Troubled Top: How to Quilt It/How to Fix It

with Brenda Shreve

Have you ever been stumped by what kind of design to quilt on a quilt top? Or have you received a quilt top that presents “issues” like wavy  borders, parts that won’t lay flat,  or being out-of-square?  Ever got to the end of your backing BEFORE you’ve finished quilting the quilt? Let’s face it: not every quilt top you receive for quilting or discover at a garage sale will be pieced perfectly, presenting problems for you as you quilt it. Brenda Shreve of Brenda’s Red Barn Quilting in Barnsdall, OK can help! Brenda has operated a longarm quilting business for 15 years and has seen almost everything on her customers’ quilts.

BRING IN YOUR “CHALLENGING” QUILT TOPS  and participate in the discussion of how to quilt/how to fix that troubled top. There’s lots to learn!

Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Brenda operates Red Barn Quilting from the Lazy T Ranch in Osage County, Oklahoma, where she settled in 2004. She  has completed more than 1000 quilts for customers from all over the United States who entrust her with their quilts.

Brenda is proudly Oklahoma’s first APQS Sales Representative. A Certified Quilt-in-a-Day Teacher, Brenda has been quilting since 1988 and began teaching classes shortly after. Since arriving in Oklahoma, Brenda has been teaching in her studio at the Lazy T Ranch, in Tulsa at the Cotton Patch and various guilds in Oklahoma.
