June 2021 Meeting
- Date: June 19, 2021
- Program: Kim Hull, Under the Covers Custom Quilting; lecture and trunk show
- Location: A-1 Singer Sewing Center
From Anita Brozik, VP/Programs
It’s that time again! The June 19 meeting will be at our regular meeting place, A-1 Singer, from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Their address is 1012 Oliver, Wichita and they open at 9 AM.
Kim Hull, our speaker this month and a member of KLQ, has been quilting for 20+ years. She will share with you her experiences from her “Under the Covers” custom quilting business as well as a trunk show of her work. Kim is a great source of information, so bring your longarm questions with you!
Besides our business meeting we will carry on with the raffle drawing for A-1 gift certificates and will continue with our “Destash Bash” (swap sale) of fabric, patterns, and/ or tools of our trade. So bring your goods and your “moola!”
Another ongoing feature will include tips & tricks from quilt members. I still need 2-3 members that want to share about their personalities through their spool of thread. . . . color, weight, size, etc. Be adventuresome and help us get to know you better!
Masks are recommended, if a person is not fully vaccinated.
• Destash Bash:
destash: verb. To remove (thread, fabric, equipment, etc.) from one’s collection.
Start spring cleaning those sewing rooms, closets, boxes, totes, and everywhere else we stash our stuff ( or stuff our stash). We’re setting up a trade, donate and/or sell table. Mark each item with your name and price. Keep your cash, donate, or trade your items with fellow guild members. Your stash, your rules.
• Bring your quilts for Show and Share.
• Raffle tickets: Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for only $5. Bring a visitor and you both get one free ticket!
