  • Date: Feb. 15, 2025
  • Program: : “Bag It Up – TOTE-ally Fun Creations”
  • Speakers: Robin Newton, Derby, KS and Dea Corns, Greensburg, KS

The first KLQ meeting of 2025 starts with the board members sharing lots of new information and ideas about the upcoming year of KLQ events. We’ll also be collecting the annual membership dues and look forward to lots of Show & Shares!

Our February speakers include KLQ President Robin Newton (above) and KLQ member Dea Corns, (left) who both have a passion for bag making and they’re going to “share the love” (Valentine’s!) at our February meeting. There will also be discussion about the possibility of a tote making workshop at a later date if that is something the membership would want.

PROGRAM

“Bag It Up – TOTE-ally Fun Creations” by Robin Newton & Dea Corns

Dea and Robin have been making bags, totes and purses for several years.  They will be sharing some of the creations that they have made and tips and tricks learned from those projects.

Topics will include the various pattern designers, zippers, purse hardware, lining those projects, handles, interfacing, stabilizers, and specialty fabrics – they go way beyond quilting cotton. Also, learn how to make a bag on your longarm.  A workshop to make the blue bag below is also going to be offered. Signup will be at the February meeting.
