February 2024 Meeting

  • Date: Feb. 17, 2024
  • Program: : “Crosshatching Your Quilt”
  • Speaker: Dixie Kuehn, Wichita, KS

Our February speaker is KLQ member Dixie Kuehn of Wichita, KS, who started quilting at age 8 when her grandmother gave her a box of squares that she sewed together. Something about the process gave her such satisfaction that she fell in love with quilting.

In 2008, faced with the challenge of finding someone to quilt her projects according to the vision in her mind, Dixie decided to take matters into her own hands and purchased a longarm.

Having spent her professional years as an aeronautical engineer until her retirement in 2015, quilting became both a personal pleasure and a way to create meaningful pieces for others, pushing herself with each project.
